Scotch on the Web FAQ!
What is Scotch on the Web? Scotch on the Web is Scotch'n'Soda's online information system. It's used to keep a history of show information, maintain an accurate inventory of items that we use for shows, and help members interact and keep up to date on shows and other organizational events. Scotch on the Web is the only place to sign up for auditions for Scotch'n'Soda productions, and can even help members get involved any point in the year!

Why do I need to register for an account? Most S'n'S functions have been moved over to Scotch on the Web - for instance, all audition signups for Scotch'n'Soda's 2009 Homecoming musical, "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," will be taken online. Signing up for an account ensures that you don't miss out on any important announcements!

I'm a freshman who's interested in Scotch'n'Soda. Can I still register? Absolutely! You don't need to have participated in any shows yet or be part of one of our troupes to create an account. When signing up, you can tell us what aspects of theater appeal to you, and we'll keep in touch with any tech positions, seminars, or any other opportunities you might find interesting. If you'd like to hears about acting roles, we'll send you an e-mail as soon as audition sign-ups are posted!

I'm already a member of Scotch'n'Soda. Should I register for an account? Yes. Among other things! Scotch on the Web will be able to track your participation in ongoing shows to create a personal record of you and S'n'S. Acting as the historian for the organization is a large and critical part of Scotch on the Web, so help us elaborate on our history by making an account!

Can I help develop Scotch on the Web? YES! This is a big undertaking and joining us is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a project - with real interface and coding issues - that's used by a large number of people and is in need of constant improvement. If you know HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, or JavaScript (or even if you don't!), and particularly, if you are skilled in AJAX, we would love to have you. Please e-mail amgross@andrew.cmu.edu to help out!
